Ringdown

Three cats on the paper, drawn a pixel at a time: a tabby, a ginger and white, and a white cat. They stand on a thin line that rings a few times at its left end, then goes still; light comes in from a window, cast by the sun over Taipei now, or after dark by the moon, and one of them stands in it. The longer you stay, the more they settle: they sit, lie down, and fall asleep.

紙上的三隻貓，一個像素一個像素畫成：一隻虎斑、一隻橘白、一隻白貓。牠們站在一條細線上，線的左端顫動幾下，然後靜下來；窗戶透進台北此刻的陽光，天黑後是月光，其中一隻站在光裡。待得越久，牠們越安定：坐下、趴下、睡著。

紙の上の3匹の猫。1ピクセルずつ描かれた、キジトラ、茶白、白猫。3匹は細い線の上に立つ。線は左端で何度か揺れてから、静まる。窓からは、いま台北を照らす日の光が、夜には月の光が差し込み、1匹がその中に立つ。長くいるほど、猫たちは落ち着いていく。座り、伏せ、眠る。

종이 위의 고양이 세 마리. 한 픽셀씩 그린 줄무늬 고양이, 주황과 흰색 고양이, 흰 고양이. 세 마리는 가는 선 위에 서 있다. 선은 왼쪽 끝에서 몇 번 떨리다가 잠잠해진다. 창으로는 지금 타이베이를 비추는 햇빛이, 해가 진 뒤에는 달빛이 들어오고, 한 마리가 그 빛 속에 서 있다. 오래 머물수록 고양이들은 차분해진다. 앉고, 엎드리고, 잠든다.

Tres gatos sobre el papel, dibujados píxel a píxel: uno atigrado, uno naranja y blanco, y uno blanco. Están de pie sobre una línea fina que vibra unas cuantas veces en su extremo izquierdo y luego se queda quieta; por una ventana entra la luz del sol que ahora alumbra Taipéi o, de noche, la de la luna, y uno de ellos está bajo esa luz. Cuanto más te quedas, más se acomodan: se sientan, se echan, se duermen.

Trois chats sur le papier, dessinés pixel par pixel : un tigré, un roux et blanc, et un blanc. Ils se tiennent sur une ligne fine qui, à son extrémité gauche, vibre à quelques reprises, puis s’immobilise ; par une fenêtre entre la lumière du soleil qui éclaire Taipei en ce moment ou, la nuit venue, celle de la lune, et l’un d’eux s’y tient. Plus vous restez, plus ils s’installent : ils s’assoient, se couchent, s’endorment.
